Litepanels Launches New Hilio Series at 2014 NAB

Litepanels will premiere its new Hilio D12 (daylight balanced) and Hilio T12 (tungsten balanced) high light output panels at NAB 2014. The innovative panels provide the light quality, versatility and intensity of an open source fixture, while offering all of the benefits of Litepanels’ proprietary LED fixture design.
The Hilio D12/T12 fixtures were designed by Litepanels to augment the lighting requirements of broadcast studios, as well as motion picture, episodic television, and commercial location shoots. The versatile panels emit a raw, narrow beam that provides high intensity for long throws. This intensity can also be harnessed and shaped with an array of available accessories to light an exterior, wash a set with soft light, or illuminate a cyc wall or green screen.

Litepanels Introduces Sola ENG Flight Kit

VAN NUYS, CALIF.: Litepanels has introduced the Sola ENG LED Fresnel lighting kit in an FAA carry-on size case. The Sola ENG Flight Kit consists of three Litepanels Sola ENG Fresnel fixtures and accessories including stands, gels, power supplies and cables, barndoors, soft box, a custom rolling case and more. Battery or A/C powered, the Sola ENG is designed for on-camera and portable use. Each fixture offers focusable output comparable to a 125W HMI yet requires 30 watts to power it.

Litepanels Ships Hilio LED Fixtures

VAN NUYS, CALIF.: Litepanels said its Hilio high-intensity LED lighting fixtures are now shipping. Daylight color balanced Hilio is a small-footprint LED fixture capable of emitting 5600-degree K illumination over a 20¹ to 25¹ (6.1 - 7.6 M) distance without requiring a ballast.

Early users of the Hilio compare the new Litepanels fixture favorably to the venerable HMI fixtures used by the television and motion picture industry, but without the HMI disadvantages such as heat generation, power hunger, short bulb life and required down time before restrike. The new high output Hilio draws just 115 W (while providing comparable illumination to a 575 W HMI) and offers a bulb life of 50,000 hours while operating from 100-240VAC 50/60 Hz, or 24VDC battery.
