Avid announcing Media Composer 6.5 family
Avid announced the latest release of its industry-leading video editing tools, Media Composer® 6.5, Symphony® 6.5, and NewsCutter® 10.5, providing fast, open workflows that greatly advance editing efficiency. The new releases of Media Composer and NewsCutter are also the first work in conjunction with Avid Interplay® Sphere to support universal connectivity and collaborative production, giving contributors the freedom to work in a distributed environment that spans multiple locations and time zones. With support for new standards that help streamline media mastering and archiving, plus new audio features and relink capabilities, these latest releases enable customers to further enhance their creativity and productivity.

NewBlue Releases Title Tool For Avid And Adobe NLEs
NewBlue has released Titler Pro software for Adobe Premiere Pro and Avid Media Composer on Windows.
The titling solution provides 2D and 3D titling capabilities with tight integration with GPU-accelerated realtime effects. The release follows a version for Sony Vegas Pro that was released in October. Support for Edius and all platforms on Mac will be available early in 2012.
Priced at $299.95, Titler Pro provides a native host plug-in workflow, 2D and 3D fonts, drag-n-drop animations, and character style and animation presets. There are also features for stereoscopic 3D output. The tool is 100 percent GPU accelerated and provides raster-based effects and transitions as well as realtime previews.
Titler Pro is compatible with Avid Media Composer 5 & 6 (32-/64-bit) and Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, CS5, CS5.5 (32-/64-bit).
